Selam is a singer-songwriter, poet, holistic life coach,  yoga & meditation expert, writer and inspirational speaker.

She is known for telling her compelling story of overcoming adversity. Her resiliency, creative and poetic speeches and delivery make for an empowering & inspiring experience for audiences.

Selam Debs is a Black queer Ethiopian-Canadian who was born in Amman, Jordan, grew up in the disinvested communities of Regent Park & Scarborough and is a survivor of abuse and limiting beliefs. She is the mother of a teen boy, the owner of Juici Yoga studios in Waterloo, a yoga & meditation teacher, a Lululemon Ambassador, a holistic life coach, a Reiki Master, singer, songwriter and poet.

Selam is most passionate about advocating for the rights of Black, Indigenous and racialized communities, the upliftment of Black voices and the importance of educating our communities on racial inequality, social justice and decolonization.

As a survivor of sexual abuse and assault, Selam believes that healing and thriving is our birthright through accessing therapy, community care, coaching and by telling our stories. What she knows for sure is we need to collectively speak up to inequities and social injustice and share our stories to change the narrative, our community and the world.
